The IDC-6830 is a Dual-Channel RF Converter (RFDC) packaged in a 1-inch pitch, conduction cooled, VPX circuit card assembly per VITA 48.2. Each channel divides the full RF input spectrum from 2.0GHz to 18.25 GHz into a set of eight dedicated, sub-octave IF outputs located within the frequency range of 2.0 to 6.0 GHz.
Adjacent RF band overlap of 500MHz allows for processing of wideband signals occurring anywhere within the RF spectrum. Each RFDC channel transfers RF input signals in the range of 2.0 to 6.0GHz to the IF outputs after pre-selection filtering and gain equalization, while signals from 5.5GHz to 18.25GHz are additionally down converted using a set of common, internally generated, local oscillators.
Each RFDC channel includes three selectable RF inputs, eight fixed IF outputs, and one non-blocking switched IF output which allows the user to select any one of the eight available IF outputs. The fixed frequency LOs are shaped between channels providing excellent channel-to-channel phase coherency, while all internal PLLs are locked to an external reference of 10MHz or 100MHz.
